Kevin Scianni’s work draws heavily from the visual language of computers and video games to elicit feelings of convergence in a post-industrial/post-digital/post-historical society. Actuality/virtuality, surface/depth, physicality/immateriality, representation/abstraction all become entangled within each composition. Each of these formal qualities do not sit dialectically opposed to one another, but rather complicity sit together within a continuum.

Kevin Scianni is a Los Angeles based artist. He studied at California State University Fullerton as an undergraduate and is currently studying at Claremont Graduate University.
